December 23 - Christmas Goings On

Here at Techzi, we’ve been busy getting ready for Christmas. Now only a couple of days away, we thought we’d let you know how we’ve been getting on.

Timothy, Aged 11, Guest Blogger, has spent quite a few days in New York. I’ll let him explain all that when he gets home though.

Seshi, Who shall now be known by her real name, Caitlin, Aged 12, Spiffy Graphics Artist, has been busy moderating the forums, kicking some spam-bot asses, and designing new uber characters to compliment the plots going on on the Roleplay boards.

Delta, also known as David, aka. me, aged 12, has been monitoring the site’s visitors closely, to see who reads the blog. In the past few days, we’ve had some pretty impressive guests! Thanks to MyBlogLog for letting me know!

Amit Agarwal, from Digital Inspiration had a good read over my blog, much to my surprise!

Chris Pirillo from bLaugh chimed in, only to find his own cartoons plastered over my blog…

No week would be complete without Michael Arrington stopping by for a chat either, that was extremely good stuff.

And Mark Seremet, co-founder of Take Two Interactive (Best known for the Grand Theft Auto series, Prey, Manhunt, Bully, Midnight Club, Red Dead Revolver and the Elder Scrolls games, as well as owning Joytech and several other major gaming publishers), had a good read of my blog, and I made quite good friends with him. He’s a great guy, and he said that he’d let the guys at Take Two know that I might be interested in testing some of their games. Now that would be cool…

All in all, it’s been a busy past week. Timmy promised to bring back some photos for us, and I know he’s already had a good luck round the Apple store in NYC, apparently the coolest one in the world.

Life is insane, yet brilliantly planned out. God knew what he was doing!

November 26 - Generation Next

Generation Next runs on the BBC from the 2nd December, up until the 10th. Aimed at getting a different angle on the world, the BBC launched Generation Next to get perspectives from youngsters like myself, from around the world.

What are they doing? Well, they’re looking in general, at teenagers and kids around the world. Everyithing from photography, to podcasting and Shakespeare to music, the BBC are making a real effort to find out what us young people think, and for that matter, care. The eight day program, by the BBC World Service, will be based on BBC Radio Five Live (Link to online tune-in). Chris Vallance, from BBC Radio Kent, and popular website, Pods & Blogs, invited me to go and find out more. Stay tuned. More coming soon!

The fact that the BBC do care, and aren’t just trying to get ‘down with the kids’, really does matter. It shows how much the world has changed. Not just in the past few decades, but you can look at recent events, to see how much the world, and the Internet has changed in the past few years, even months. Who would have thought, that YouTube, a site that didn’t even exist 18 months ago, would now, according to Alexa, be the Internet’s 8th most visited? The world is changing. Media is changing. Life is changing. The winds of change are blowing, once again… We all know what happened last time someone said that!

Site News - Milestones

Wow. This is the life… Sitting back, sipping my ice cold glass of Tropicana Original, and stuffing my face with Thorntons. Just how I like it! But that’s aside from the point. The reason I’m writing this post, has a truly spectacular reason behind it.

Tomorrow, the site will be four months old. But today, this very post is our 500th. We’ve been bringing you technology, internet and gadget news whenever we can for these past months, and it greatly pleases me to say, that we have some upcoming expansion features planned. Something I’ve been promising for a while, a move to a privately hosted server, and for Wordpress to become our blogging platform of choice, is finally making some good progress. Admittedly, it’s not the home-server I’d been planning on purchasing, but with the money I’ve earned using Michael Cheney’s 11 Days To List Profits, and the income I’ve been getting from Profy, I’ve managed to get myself a decent host.

Okay, it’s not exactly state of the art, but it’ll do. All-in-all, the site has had it’s ups and downs. This past week, I’ve not had loads of time for blogging, but on previous occasions, I’ve managed to pump out over 50 posts a week! It all varies on how busy I am, whether or not I get much homework, and how often I get to fulfill my other commitments.

Site News - Seshi Introduction

Hello there! My name is Seshi and I am the artist here at UKTToday. Delta is forcing me to write this against my own will because “Everyone should get credit for what they do”, or so he says. Personally I’d prefer to stay anonymous, but what the heck! So yeah… yeah. Oh I don’t know. That’s me then. See you later! You’ll probably see my artwork before I see you!

Site News - No Updates

I’m sorry for the lack of news updates today, I’ve been very busy testing all of the sites new layouts before I go away tomorrow, making sure that they work in different browsers etc. I’m going camping in Wales. I won’t be away for ages, just till Thursday. If you’re lucky, I’ll attempt to e-mail blogs from my phone to Blogger. I’ve not tried it yet, but I think it’ll work. You’ll just have to wait and see. Any comments on the new site layout should be attached to this post. Just so you know, I’m also visiting Lanzarote next week for ten days. More details will be given nearer the time. Thanks!

Delta

Site News - Adsense Complete

Adsense adverts are now showing up all over the site. Hopefully they’re not causing you too much trouble. I’m happy with the chage ofver and think that the ads blend in rather well. They don’t scream to be looked at either like lots of them. But remember, a click a day keep 404s away. Oh… And it helps this site to review more interesting and relevant products.

And if you’re a blogger or own a website of your own, sign up now by clicking the link in the right hand side toolbar!

Site News - We’re famous! (English)

Hello! It’s me again! Anyway. As you probably know, a few days back, NABAZTAG wrote a review about my blog, and mentioned me as a ‘brilliant, young journalist’. Unfortunately, it was in French. But don’t worry! They’ve posted an English version just for you guys! Check it out here.

Or alternatively, you can read it below.

Summertime is here and Nabaztag is far from having the opportunity to slack off cause there is a buzzing sound in his ears. It’s no surprise, since he was born, that there is he’s been mentioned nearly 1,000,000 times in English alone! Apparently Nabaztag appeals to all kinds of people, and he is very proud to interest the curious and inventive young generation. We had already shown, here, a young publicists video of her favourite wi-fi pet, this time, we wanted to congratulate Delta’s work, a very young and brilliant journalist (check out his resume) from England, passionated with emerging technologies, whom cumulates many talents. And on his blog he has celebrated and recelebrated our celebrated Rabbit, which took the opportunity to whisper to Klopick’s ears a few informations’ modifications and news about future services to which Delta reacted by upgrading Nabaztag’s rating to four stars ! Nabaztag loves that and mostly to awake young adults imagination.

Sorry for all of the bad grammer in that review above, but for once, it wasn’t my fault! I get to blame Yasmine, the editor at NABAZTAG for that one, or at least whoever else wrote that article! I’m enjoing my first ever experience of blogger and am going to keep updating the site. I’m on my summer holidays at the moment and have more time than usual to blog, than I would otherwise.

Site News - AdSense Arrival!

We’ve been saying that we’ll get it since we started up. And it’s just not happened. But now, an account has been set up. All revenues generated by AdSense Impressions and clicks will go into buying new products to review. Remember, we aren’t asking you to click, but each and every one we receive goes into improving the site and bringing you more frequent, more interesting reviews.

We care about what you think about the site, and are going to make all of the AdSense adverts unobtrusive, and well suited to the colour scheme so that they aren’t going to burn holes in your eyes every time you visit the site.

Thanks for your co-operation and patience,
Delta

UPDATE: Google is reviewing the blog to make sure that everything is in order. Please keep checking for further updates. If you are unhappy with any advert placements, please just leave a comment and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Google has approved my application. All clicks that I receive will now donate to the UKTToday Product Review fund.

Site News - RSS Support

I’ve added full RSS support to the site and added quick subscription buttons on the right hand side. I’ve also completed the Atom feed and that’s up and running. If anyone has any questions, just leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Also, I’d like to thank Seshi for all the behind-the-scenes Grpahics work she’s done for this site. None of it is up yet, but it’s sitting there waiting to be used.
