$100 TV-Watch. Fancy, huh?

Wristwatches these days are evolving rapidly, having just recently seen Nike launch their own range of iPod watches, it’s gonna take something to get us hyped now. So what’s this, buried in the geek closet? I do believe it’s a 1.5″ OLED wristwatch, sporting a full colour 128×128 resolutioin for streaming TV direct to you, wherever you happen to be. Personally, I’d find staring for hours on end at a tiny screen like this tiresome, but if you simply need to catch the news headlines, I could see why it’d be useful.
The built-in microphone allows for seamless recording of notes/conversations discreetly, and comes with 2GB of on-board memory to keep the fishes at bay. Thankfully, the battery charges via USB, so no more silly Li-Ion explosions.
Sporting a 7-hour on-the-fly video playback time, (presuming you watch no more than 1 hour of tiny-TV a day - afterall, who would?) you can easily get a weeks worth of use outta this watch. Free conversion software is also downloadable from the ThinkGeek website, so you can convert any odd formats you might have lying around, into MP3/WMA.
For just under $100, this watch is a winner. You can grab one now from ThinkGeek.

Hmmm..watching TV on a 128×128 screen doesn’t seem very enticing.
But we could use it for show-off
And btw, how often do you reset top commentators plugin list?

Topp Commentators - We’re planning on doing it monthly to keep things competitive. Or perhaps we’ll keep it… Forever?
But like you say, the watch is more for show, I think.

And I thought Ipod Screens were tiny.

Does it actually show TV? The article on think geek does not mention live TV, only the ability to play videos. If it does play TV, surely you’d need some kind of TV licence?

Do you need a license to play TV on a mini-screen? That’s live streaming.

Also, it appears to be 7 hours for audio playback, only four hours for video playback.

Nice noticing… That’s been changed, though. It clearly stated 7-hour ‘playback’. Not stating audio or video previously. Hmm… Sleepy sales letters.
You know what they say about ThinkGeek and caffeine, though!

It then says: (4 hours for video playback) suggesting it is 7 for audio. And are you sure it plays TV?
May 14th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
Yes - I see it now, but what I’m trying convey is that it didn’t say that 48 hours ago.

Oh I see now!
