MESH Computers - Vista Issues
As some of you may know, I ordered my computer from MESH Computers several weeks back… They promised to deliver in time for my birthday, which just so happens to be today. The date they quoted, was infact Monday 12th February.
I have no problem with a company having issues or problems with it’s services, but when they lie to the customer repeatedly, put you on hold for several minutes on Premium rate numbers and refuse to tell you the status of your order, I have a problem. If they just owned up to the fact and admitted the problem, I’d be happy. But they’re still not quite telling us the truth I feel. First it was ‘Your PC will arrive today’. Next day it was ‘Your PC will arrive today’. Next day it was ‘Your PC may not arrive today. We’ve had a Vista Problem’. When we inquired what the problem was, they told us that the ‘Vista disk partition is yet to leave the labs’. You know what? That’s absolute rubbish… I’ve seen people on forums who’ve had MESH deliver Windows Vista, so why won’t you give me mine?
Why have you left us in the dark? Like I said, if you have an issue, admit it, and tell me where I stand. I hardly believe it’s Vista as I’ve had confrimation from others who’ve ordered from MESH.
Update: It turns out that infact it’s something to do with MESH and Vista Ultimate in quality control… Slightly more believable! Why couldn’t they have just told me that in the first place though? With a company this big, they need a better method of notifying customers of delays.

Wow, that really tells you something about MESH computers.
It sucks that you’re computer hasn’t come yet…
Anyways, Happy Birthday!

Thanks man! And yeah… MESH have been less than impressive.

Companies come up with that sort of crap to fool the simpleton user. However, people like us can tell that they are probably not having any problems, and just haven’t shipped it yet. I have had similar problems with Amazon. Last December, I ordered some gifts off the site on December the 2nd They didn’t come next day (which normally happens, but I did have a product that wasn’t in stock), they didn’t come a week later when they promised, the product finally came after Christmas.
Wasn’t happy…

I can imagine so… Amazon usually take a couple of days with me. Just got word from MESH that all their copies of ‘Windows Vista Ultimate Edition is still in Quality Control’. That’s not what they said yesterday, but at least we’re getting somewhere!

That’s a load of crap. Why don’t they just ship it with XP installed and a Vista “Express Upgrade” when it’s available, as many PC companies do? I personally prefer to buy a PC with no OS installed, so I can install Linux on it.
Anyway, Happy Birthday!

It’s supposedly been available since January 31st, when MESH started shipping PCs with the OS pre-installed. Nothing I can do about it now though.
Of course I could have built one myself and got the OEM, but now I’ve learned my lesson I guess.

Even worse! I bought my new PC back on 28th December. How I wish I hadn’t. I qualified for a free upgrade to Vista Home P, but nothing was said in store about aquiring Vista. So February came, hadn’t received any vouchers (becasue they take your address in store, thought they might use it) through the mail, and I visited the site. Turns out my “free” upgrade would have to be ordered online, and it would cost me £16, including taxes.
I did go through and buy it, because I’m not going to find a legitimate copy of Vista again at that price, but these companies are very misleading. Watch your back is what I suggest.

I agree, they really do need to state the terms more clearly. Anything to make a few extra quid… Sheesh!

That totally sucks
(
Anyways, Hope you have a Happy B-day!!!

I’m about to go out for a Chinese meal, but I’ll be sure to make the most of it!

You went with MESH… I’ve heard they’re terrible with Customer Service and Repairs . If your computer breaks down, send it to me… not them.
February 15th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Will you pay for the extra parts then? If MESH do it for free, then I’ll let them… That said, if the customer service & repairs is as bad as what I’ve had to deal with so far, I may think again.
PC Pro is constantly giving them glowing reviews though. I had no idea it could be so unreal.
